How apps work

The platform is mostly the scaffolding around your account and workspace. The actual products you use day to day — invoicing, and whatever else ships over time — live as apps you activate inside a workspace.

This article explains the concept. Each app has its own detailed help inside the app itself, reachable from the app's sidebar.

#Apps inside a workspace

A workspace can have any number of apps activated at once. Each app:

  • Has its own data, stored separately from other apps.
  • Has its own plan and limits — Free for one app and Pro for another is fine.
  • Has its own per-user access list, independent of workspace membership.

Switching apps doesn't change which workspace you're in. Switching workspaces doesn't cancel any of your apps.

#Who can activate what

Only the workspace Owner can activate a new app on the workspace. Workspace Admins cannot. This is to keep billing decisions concentrated on the user the platform recognises as the owner.

#Where to find your apps

  • My apps — /my-apps lists every app already activated in the current workspace plus what's available to activate. This is the launcher.
  • The app's own sidebar — once you're inside an app, its navigation takes over. The profile menu top-right still gets you back to platform-level pages.

#Plans per app

Plans are per app, per workspace — not per account, not per workspace alone. That means:

  • Two workspaces using the same app can be on different plans.
  • Within one workspace, two different apps can be on different plans.
  • Upgrading one app does not upgrade any other.

Each app exposes its plan picker in its own settings page or in the activation flow on /my-apps.

#App lifecycle: Activate, Cancel, Resume

The platform exposes three actions for an app on a workspace:

  • Activate — make the app available on the workspace and start the billing subscription on the plan you pick. Only the workspace Owner can do this.
  • Cancel — pause the billing subscription. The app stays activated and the data stays intact; billing stops at the next renewal.
  • Resume — bring back a previously cancelled subscription. The data was never removed, so everything is where you left it.

This is intentional: the data of an activated app does not disappear behind a single click. If you need an app's data removed from a workspace, write to support@zendrhax.com.

#Web app + native clients

Every app is available as a web app — accessed from /my-apps inside the workspace. Some apps also ship with native clients for Android, iOS and Windows that connect to the same account and operate on the same workspace data.

What's common across both surfaces:

  • The same login and 2FA. Sign-in carries you to whichever workspaces you belong to.
  • The same data. There is no separate "mobile data" — the native client reads and writes through the same APIs the web app uses.
  • The same plan and quotas. The native client respects whatever plan limits the workspace's app subscription has.

Activation happens on the web (/my-apps). Once an app is active on a workspace, the native client picks it up automatically on the next sign-in there. Whether a specific app has native clients (and which platforms), download links, and version notes live inside that app's own help section.

#What's next

  • Activate an app on a workspace — pick from the catalogue and activate a new app for your workspace.
  • Grant team access to an app — decide who in your workspace can see and use each app.
